Mission
The school
council, including the school principal, shall meet regularly and shall
assist in the identification of the educational needs of the students
attending the school, make recommendations to the principal for the
development, implementation and assessment of the curriculum accommodation
plan, shall assist in the review of the annual school budget and in the
formulation of a school improvement plan.
Members
A
council is composed of elected and appointed representatives of the school and
community. The law specifies that the council is to consist of: parents of
students attending the school; teachers; and other persons drawn from the
community. The number of parent representatives must be equal to the
number of professional school personnel who serve on the council. Not more
than fifty percent of the council shall be non-school members." Non-school
members are defined as members who are "other than parents, teachers, students,
and staff at the school".
The
principal is required by law to serve as one of the co-chairs of the council.
Parents and Teachers are elected from their respective groups. The
principal appoints the community members.
Meetings
Green
Meadow School Advisory Council generally meets on the first Monday of the month
in the Green Meadow Conference Room at 6:30 PM.
